Will my confidentiality be respected?
Barnsley Talking Therapies is part of South West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. We aim to provide you with the highest possible quality of health care. To do this we must keep records about you, your health and the care we have provided or plan to provide for you. We are committed to using records about you in a way which respects your rights and promotes your wellbeing. All of our staff have a legal duty to keep information about you confidential and secure, although there are some very rare circumstances when we are required by law, in the interests of public safety, to disclose information.
How long does it take to get an appointment?
You can choose and book onto your preferred workshop(s). Stress pac dates are online which you can book onto via our website. If you require an initial assessment, then we aim to offer this within two working days.
How much do the groups and sessions cost?
The groups and sessions are free of charge. NHS Talking Therapies is a national programme funded by the NHS and provided within the Barnsley area by South West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust.
Where will I be seen?
We offer individual appointments either over the phone or online. Currently all workshops, therapy courses and therapy groups are online via video call.
Can I choose the gender of my therapist?
Yes. We will be happy to provide a therapist of your chosen gender.
Why am I asked to fill out questionnaires out before each session?
Our services use standard questionnaires to assess the mood of all clients. The questionnaires are used for assessment and clients coming into treatment will be asked to complete them at every session, so we can monitor change. This is a really useful tool for both clients and clinicians. We have recently added a system that sends SMS messages to clients to complete these questionnaires and in some instances, extra reminders are sent.
We would kindly ask clients to complete one set of questionnaires before each assessment and each workshop, Stresspac session or one-to-one treatment.
This will help us to provide the best support to you.
